Upstate New York College Gains Deeper Visibility into all Connected Devices to Help Manage Insider Risk

Russell Sage College, a higher education institution in upstate New York, needed better visibility into the many managed, unmanaged, and IoT devices connecting to its network. The college struggled to uncover insider risk, identify unmanaged assets, and satisfy cybersecurity insurance and compliance requirements, so it turned to Armis for help.

Armis deployed its asset intelligence platform to passively discover and fingerprint devices across both campuses, expanding the college’s inventory by 15x and uncovering up to 30,000 devices during the proof of value. With integrations into tools like Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft Defender, Tenable, and InTune, Armis enabled faster remediation, automated detection and response, reduced network traffic, improved compliance and insurance readiness, and gave the IT team much stronger control over security posture.
