Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust - Customer Case Study

Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, a general hospital in Harlow, Essex, was working toward a 2030 digital transformation vision while facing a rapidly expanding attack surface across IT, IoT, and IoMT devices. With legacy medical equipment, unmanaged assets, and the constant risk of cyberattacks on healthcare data, the trust needed better visibility, segmentation, and vulnerability management. It turned to Armis and its Centrix™ platform for Medical Device Security to help expose security gaps and monitor devices across its environment.

Armis deployed Centrix™ across three hospitals and one administrative centre, integrating with existing tools and creating a single pane of glass for the IT and EBME teams to monitor assets, automate discovery, and manage vulnerabilities. The solution improved operational efficiency, reduced MTTR, cut false positives and alert fatigue, and helped prevent malware spread by identifying a device connecting to a known malicious domain. Since the POC, the hospital’s environment has doubled in equipment, with Armis helping secure 3,500 iPads and 5,000 laptops and desktops while strengthening overall security posture.
