Case Study: KBC explores consumer attitudes to sulphur emissions with Arlington Research

A Arlington Research Case Study

KBC explores sulphur emissions attitudes in 5 countries with Arlington Research

KBC, a technology-based consulting company for the energy and chemical industry, commissioned vendor Arlington Research to conduct international consumer research. The challenge was to explore consumer awareness and attitudes towards sulphur dioxide emissions, particularly in the context of new maritime regulations, to support a wider campaign.

Arlington Research implemented a quantitative study, conducting over 5,000 interviews across five countries. The key finding from Arlington Research was that few consumers were willing to pay extra for goods to reduce their personal "Sulphur Shadow." These insights successfully generated extensive media coverage for KBC in both international consumer and trade press.
