Materne Squeezes Out Savings and Strengthens Their Supplier Network by Running an RFP on Cartons with Arkestro

Materne, the GoGo squeeZ brand and a leader in applesauce pouches, was nearing the end of a three-year carton supply agreement and needed to improve pricing while also expanding its supplier base to support rapid growth and business continuity. As the company’s carton spend reached about $20 million annually, Materne turned to Arkestro to help run an RFP on cartons.

Using Arkestro’s sourcing platform, Materne launched a competitive RFP after incumbent suppliers failed to meet its pricing goals. Arkestro helped Materne add two additional key suppliers, bringing the total to five and creating backup coverage for every format, while also delivering $1 million in savings.
