The Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia (PDS DC) needed a better way to keep clients positioned to benefit from changes in law, technology, and science while also improving operational efficiency. PDS was dealing with a slow, paper-heavy process for managing mission records, and partnered with ArkCase to address the challenge.

ArkCase, working through Armedia, digitized and scanned PDS DC’s records stored in 29,000 boxes and implemented a cloud-based case management solution using ArkCase. The result was the elimination of manual and paper-based information management, cutting file retrieval and review time from as long as 24 to 48 hours plus another 4 to 24 hours down to seconds.
