Habitat for Humanity DC worked with Arjuna Solutions to address the challenge of raising more revenue from the same local donor base while protecting long-term donor engagement. The chapter wanted a better way to set ask amounts across email and direct mail campaigns, and used ExactAsk, Arjuna Solutions’ predictive analytics platform, to personalize donation asks for different donor segments.
Arjuna Solutions helped Habitat for Humanity DC run a four-month test across two campaigns, comparing personalized asks against a control group. The treatment group produced a 106% increase in average gift size, or an additional $163.27 per gift, compared with a 15% increase for the control group, generating $9,470 in additional revenue and a 250% ROI. The program also helped re-engage one-time and lapsed donors, and Habitat for Humanity DC noted the approach was effective without undermining long-term fundraising goals.
