A Arista Networks Case Study
Wasabi, a cloud-storage startup aiming to commoditize large-file storage and fast retrieval, needed a datacenter architecture that was fast, flexible and inexpensive. Key challenges included providing cost-effective native 25G connectivity to storage devices, a high‑density edge router able to handle multiple Internet routing tables, and a scalable design to support customer growth.
Arista supplied 7000-series 25G switches and a Jericho‑based edge router, deployed in MLAG pairs and later migrated to a 100G spine–leaf fabric, and delivered a single‑binary EOS platform automated with Ansible. The solution delivered cost‑effective 25G/100G bandwidth, consistent automated provisioning, significant OPEX savings and a scalable, high‑performance infrastructure that enabled Wasabi to expand to multiple datacenters worldwide.
