A Arista Networks Case Study
Walsh University, a private Catholic liberal arts school of nearly 3,000 students with 10 residence halls housing about 1,100 students, faced chronic wireless congestion as student devices tripled and evening use of streaming and interactive gaming overwhelmed its controller-based network. The Office of IT needed a secure, scalable solution that could support high-density residence halls, simplify management, and protect campus data.
Walsh deployed Arista’s cloud-managed Cognitive WiFi with AirTight WIPS—W-68 access points in residence halls and C-120/C-130 Wave 2 APs in busy common areas—completing rollout in six weeks. The upgrade delivered reliable high-density performance, stronger security, a major reduction in troubleshooting time through a centralized dashboard, and an easier path for future scaling, with responsive vendor support throughout the project.
