Timeline Television, a UK outside-broadcast specialist, set out to build Europe’s first purpose‑built OB truck to support fully uncompressed 4K/UHD, IP and HDR workflows based on SMPTE 2110. The project required a high‑density, non‑blocking switching architecture with 100G and 4×25G support, ultra‑low latency and rock‑solid reliability for live sports and events.

Timeline selected Arista’s 7504R switches and EOS as the core platform, giving 15 Tbps switching capacity, sub‑4 microsecond latency and flexible 10/25/100G interfaces. The result is a compact, highly reliable 4608×4608 video matrix that supports 32 Sony UHD cameras and 14 video servers, fast predictable startup and the performance needed for top‑tier live broadcasts.
