A Arista Networks Case Study
Samsung SDS, Korea’s largest IT solutions and services company responsible for system construction and operation across the Samsung Group, needed to move from siloed legacy systems to an SDDC-based private cloud to reduce TCO, speed service delivery and preserve customer isolation. The primary challenges were achieving logical separation between customers while minimizing architectural changes, keeping existing network topology and security posture, and seamlessly linking virtualization to bare-metal and legacy systems as VMware NSX was introduced.
Samsung SDS deployed Arista 7010T and 7050SX switches with Arista EOS CloudVision® and Arista VTEP to extend VXLAN/VMware NSX into the underlay, using an L3 leaf‑spine design to preserve performance and manageability. The solution cut provisioning lead times from three months to three days, halved capex, improved security by keeping workloads in a private cloud, and delivered network-wide visibility and a single integration point to NSX; it is now running on 100+ ESXi hosts with 1,000+ VMs across three data centers serving 10+ customers and 20+ services.
