Case Study: Qrator Lab achieves line-rate DDoS mitigation and 75% CAPEX reduction with Arista Networks

A Arista Networks Case Study

Preview of the Qrator Lab Case Study

Qrator selects Arista as the critical technology foundation for DDoS mitigation service to deliver improved reliability whilst reducing cost and complexity

Qrator Labs, a leading Eastern European DDoS mitigation provider, expanded rapidly into multiple international PoPs and found its reliance on ISP equipment costly and limiting. The company needed a high-performance, ultra-reliable switching architecture it could control to handle growing traffic, support ECMP and flowspec, avoid packet loss at line rate, and reduce CAPEX and operational complexity.

Qrator deployed Arista 7150S switches and leveraged Arista EOS extensibility to run ExaBGP and custom daemons inside the switch for flowspec, telemetry, and traffic steering. This delivered line-rate forwarding with no packet drops, a 75% reduction in CAPEX versus alternative load-balancers/routers, lower latency and higher reliability (over 1,000 days uptime), and a scalable path to a 100Gbps architecture.
