Case Study: HOPUS achieves scalable, low‑latency, cost‑efficient IP network and transit services with Arista Networks

A Arista Networks Case Study

HOPUS switches to Arista to deliver scalable yet cost efficient IP network and transit services for international content and service providers

HOPUS is an IP network and transit service that offers a fair, transparent pricing model to internet access, content and service providers. Rapid growth and increasing traffic volumes had stretched its donated Brocade-based network, creating a need for higher-density 100G ports, better scalability, lower latency and more automation to meet SLAs and support its expanding membership.

HOPUS migrated to Arista’s platform—deploying 7280R switches with plans to upgrade edges to 7500 series and using Arista EOS— in a simple, non‑disruptive process. The new architecture delivered deep buffering, higher port density, cost-effective scaling, unified management and responsive support; as a result the network now handles peaks over 400 Gbps, continues to add members, and is positioned for further geographic expansion.
