Delivering Business WiFi in Gig City

EPB, Chattanooga’s community-owned utility and ISP that provides 10 Gig Internet to residential and business customers, faced a growing demand from its 6,500+ business customers for managed WiFi. Many small and medium businesses lacked the time and expertise to deploy and support wireless networks, so EPB needed a packaged, low‑cost Managed Service offering they could centrally manage.

EPB partnered with Arista to launch HostedWiFi, a cloud‑managed, commercial‑grade solution with intuitive dashboards and analytics. The program has deployed over 1,000 Arista access points across nearly 200 local businesses (adding 2–3 customers per week), cut troubleshooting time and SLAs, improved customer retention, and created new monetization and reporting benefits for EPB’s business customers.
