Arista’s flexible and scalable solution helps Taboola deliver hundreds of billions of content recommendations every month

Taboola, a leading content discovery platform used by over a billion people, was outgrowing its network as it delivered tens of billions of recommendations daily (over 360 billion per month). Rapid growth exposed limits in its Layer 2 switching architecture: Taboola needed higher per‑server bandwidth (from 10Gbps to 25Gbps and the ability to reach 100Gbps), a move to a more intelligent Layer 3 design, simplified management, and freedom from vendor lock‑in to support private cloud and real‑time orchestration needs.

Taboola deployed Arista 7280 and 7160 switches with Arista EOS in a leaf‑and‑spine topology across four sites, including 100Gbps uplinks over dark fibre. The upgrade delivered higher density and bandwidth, lower latency and power consumption, easier in‑place upgrades and management, and cost‑efficient scalability to 100Gbps—enabling Taboola’s continued growth and more flexible, DevOps‑centric private cloud operations while supporting hundreds of billions of monthly recommendations.
