Poynter Institute, the world’s leading journalism institute, needed a way to teach young voters how to spot misinformation during a pivotal election year, after plans for in-person outreach were derailed by the pandemic. To reach users in rural areas and those with limited internet access, Poynter looked for a scalable mobile learning approach and partnered with Arist.
Arist helped Poynter turn the MediaWise Voter Project into a 10-day text message course delivered directly to voters’ phones. The program enrolled more than 1,600 young voters and achieved an 87% completion rate, with Poynter using the Arist dashboard to track daily impact and engagement.
