GLISI, the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement, wanted to make diversity, equity, and inclusion training more accessible and engaging for educators across Georgia and beyond. Faced with growing demand after 2020 and the challenge of delivering sensitive, reflective content in a way that felt digestible and approachable, GLISI looked for a format that could fit into educators’ busy schedules. Vendor Arist provided the text-message-based course platform used to deliver the training.
Using Arist, GLISI built a 10-day text-based course on topics such as bias and microaggressions, complemented by a discussion guide for principals. Arist helped GLISI quickly create and deploy the program to several thousand employees, leading to strong positive feedback, higher participation than previous initiatives, and a more comfortable, anonymous environment for honest self-reflection. The result was a more convenient, familiar, and accessible learning experience that helped GLISI drive meaningful organizational change.
