RightsLink for Open Access and Editorial Manager An End-to-End Publishing Solution for Authors

Microbiology Society, a publisher of microbiology journals, needed a better way to manage article publication charges (APCs), which authors found challenging and time-consuming to pay. To address this, the society worked with Aries Systems and its Editorial Manager workflow, alongside RightsLink for Open Access, to improve the APC payment experience.

Aries Systems implemented a deep integration between Editorial Manager and RightsLink for Open Access to automate APC pricing, billing, collections, and reporting. The result was a clearer payment process for authors, easier status tracking for staff, and faster workflow management across multiple journals; since June 2015, Microbiology Society has collected over 100 APCs through the solution.
