How EM helps association optimize resources

The Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER) needed a better way to manage its peer-reviewed journal, which had previously been handled manually and with outsourced volunteers. In 2008, the organization selected Aries Systems’ EM solution to streamline its publishing workflow and support its editorial operations.

With Aries Systems’ EM in place, AER achieved on-time release of its quarterly journal *Insight: Research and Practice in Visual Impairment and Blindness* and improved its content management processes. The flexibility of Aries Systems’ EM also helped minimize costs, while extending its use beyond the journal to publish books and abstracts and support a university program approval function.
