A ARDEX Americas Case Study
The Allegheny County Airport Authority faced a significant challenge during the construction of Pittsburgh International Airport. The project's precast concrete floor planks had deviations of up to one inch, requiring extensive leveling to install the finish flooring. With a massive scale and a very tight schedule, the construction manager, Dick Corporation, needed a high-performing floor preparation solution from ARDEX Americas.
ARDEX Americas provided its self-leveling underlayment solution, ARDEX K 15, which was pumped and installed by a highly experienced contractor. This system delivered flat, smooth surfaces that were ready for construction traffic and finish flooring within 24 hours. The solution was so effective that thirty years after installation, the flooring system continues to perform like new for the hundreds of millions of passengers that use the airport.
