Socofín, a Chilean collections company with over 20 years’ experience and 1,640 employees, needed to shorten backup and restoration windows and gain more granular recovery options than its previous full-image Acronis backups allowed. The IT team required the ability to restore anything from a single file to an entire machine while meeting operational and regulatory availability needs.

Socofín deployed Arcserve Unified Data Protection (UDP), sizing protected servers, installing RPS, deploying agents and creating tiered backup plans, plus validating recovery and tape migration. The result was faster full and differential backups, shorter restore times, local and parallel backup operations with multiple daily restore points, 15 days of on-site recovery points plus tape, reduced storage through deduplication, and rapid recovery from a recent ransomware incident.
