PW Hall Ltd is a 50‑person Glasgow manufacturer of plastics colour concentrates with around 60% of sales exported. The company faced growing data volumes and an ageing tape backup process that created long, unreliable backup windows (sometimes over 13 hours) and put manufacturing, sales and user productivity at risk if IT outages occurred.

After a two‑month trial PW Hall deployed the Arcserve UDP Appliance with Arcserve Cloud (implemented with partner Epaton) to protect ~3 TB across 12 virtual and 5 physical servers (SQL, ERP, Exchange and flat files). Incremental backups throughout the day reduced the backup window to about 90 minutes, offsite replication enables rapid DR (mailbox restores in ~15 minutes) and the move from tape freed SAN capacity, cut storage costs and materially reduced operational risk.
