Mackenzie Presbyterian University is a major Brazilian educational institution with about 40,000 students across multiple campuses, offering programs from early childhood to graduate studies. Its IT team faced a heterogeneous environment (physical and virtual servers, Windows and Linux, multiple databases and applications) holding roughly 6 TB of critical data and needed to expand backup coverage at remote units, improve performance for backup and restore operations, and centralize management and reporting.

To address this, Mackenzie implemented Arcserve Backup r16 with a SQL Server database backend, deploying agents in remote branches while centralizing management in São Paulo and adding a report-visualization system. The result was simplified, integrated processes and centralized data management, faster and more reliable backups and restores, improved security and peace of mind for IT staff, and a path toward single-point access and unified administration across all units.
