Honey Baked Ham Turns to Arcserve for Fast, Affordable Backups

Honey Baked Ham Company, a family-owned U.S. food producer founded in 1957 with a 5,000-strong workforce, faced rapidly growing data volumes and an aging backup environment. Their legacy system had limited, costly storage and relied on tape backups that could take up to five days to complete, so IT needed a faster, scalable, and budget-friendly solution.

Working with Arcserve, Honey Baked Ham deployed Arcserve OneXafe object-based, scale-out appliances on-site with a replicated stack offsite, starting small and easily expanding to six terabytes. The result: full backups shrank from five days to overnight, inline deduplication and compression delivered up to 5:1 data reduction (lowering storage costs), and continuous protection with encryption made backups simple, scalable, and largely maintenance-free.
