A Arcserve Case Study
GAYA is a Mexican construction firm with about 200 employees and more than 30 years’ experience delivering interior and large-scale projects across cities like Guadalajara, Monterrey and Los Cabos (and a data center project in Panama). The company faced unreliable, drive-based backups and had previously lost a day's worth of data to a virus, prompting a search for a more efficient, reliable backup and disaster-recovery solution.
Working with partner YellowTech, GAYA implemented Arcserve UDP 7.0 Advanced on a Hyper-V 2012 environment covering six servers; the phased, 1.5‑month rollout included demos, admin-console review and disaster-simulation tests to ensure granular recovery with no operational impact. The result was faster, near‑instant recovery, higher availability and greater peace of mind—no data loss during a subsequent server issue—and the flexibility to support remote work and a move toward cloud services such as Office 365.
