Comms-care safeguards service quality with fast and effcient data recovery

Comms-care is a UK and Ireland IT services provider (200 employees, £22m revenue) that supports over 700 channel partners. As it expanded into managed services it needed a simpler, more reliable disaster recovery approach to meet ISO 20000 and strict customer SLAs; its existing mix of disparate backup tools was complex to manage and full system recovery could take up to 36 hours.

The company deployed Arcserve UDP to protect 50 virtual and physical servers across three datacentres (about 15 TB of data) with daily incremental and nightly full backups. Centralizing and automating recovery reduced whole-system restore time from 36 hours to roughly 1 hour, lowered costs and risk, freed resources, and enabled Comms-care to offer more competitive, scalable managed disaster-recovery services to customers.
