Case Study: Badger International achieves scalable, ransomware-protected secondary storage with Arcserve OneXafe

A Arcserve Case Study

Preview of the Badger International Case Study

Badger International Leading South African insurance company chooses OneXafe

Badger International, a South African insurance provider with about 1,200 staff and over 180,000 clients, faced growing storage and data-protection pressures across three sites—more than 16 physical servers and ~100 VMs—when two costly SANs neared capacity. The IT team needed a flexible, scalable, and secure secondary-storage solution to ensure business continuity, compliance, and protection from incidents including ransomware.

Badger deployed three Arcserve OneXafe 4412 appliances to off-load secondary storage, enable site-to-site replication between offices and the datacenter, and provide immutable snapshots every 90 seconds for rapid recovery. The result was simplified management, stronger ransomware protection, extended SAN life by roughly 18 months (delivering cost savings), and a scalable platform Badger plans to standardize across the group.
