A ARCOS Case Study
Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC), a Southwest Florida utility maintaining about 8,000 miles of energized line, needed a better way to manage storm-related callouts, track personnel, and fairly distribute emergency work. Its manual process led to delays, rising overtime costs, inaccurate reporting, and several bargaining unit grievances each year. To address these issues, LCEC turned to ARCOS.
ARCOS implemented cloud-based Resource Management software that automated callouts, tracked crew status in real time, and provided accurate reporting and analytics aligned with LCEC’s rules and bargaining agreements. The results were significant: LCEC eliminated callout-related grievances, improved callout response and turnout visibility, and gained better workforce planning. Using ARCOS data, the co-op also restructured shifts for 24-hour coverage with 12 starting times to help reduce overtime and improve service reliability.
