The State of North Carolina needed to move its on-premise Exchange servers to Microsoft Office 365 and migrate a large NearPoint archive at the same time. The archive contained 94,621 mailboxes and 330 TB of data, and the state also needed to retain inactive user mailboxes for compliance and legal discovery.

Archive360, using its Archive 2-Anywhere Mimosa NearPoint edition, was brought in to migrate the archive to Office 365 Personal Archives. The system was averaging over 1 terabyte of email data per day, with a peak rate of 1.8 terabytes per day, and was moving 6 million messages per day at peak 8 million. It also preserved mailbox content and context, including folders, calendars, contacts, notes, and tasks, while helping the state handle inactive mailboxes for legal hold and eDiscovery.
