A ARCHIBUS Case Study
Wuhan Metro, which serves the transportation needs of a 10+ million–person regional hub, faced growing operational strain as its network expanded from 80 km and 65+ stations toward a planned 333 km and multiple cross‑river tunnels. The organization relied on fragmented paper records, manual data collection, slow work‑order processes and poor asset and space visibility, problems that threatened service reliability and made scalable management impossible.
To fix this, Wuhan implemented an Enterprise Information Management (EIM) platform built on ARCHIBUS and integrated BIM/GIS, RFID/QR codes, BAS, mobile access and cloud video monitoring. The system automated data capture and work orders, delivered real‑time space and asset analytics, and enabled 3D/360° visualization. As a result Wuhan Metro improved responsiveness and reporting, optimized space and equipment utilization (realizing an estimated 70% of BIM value in operations), strengthened emergency collaboration, and achieved more cost‑efficient, safer transit operations.
