Scripps Eliminates Manual Conference Room Scheduling With ARCHIBUS Solution

Scripps Networks, a leading cable programming company with about 1,700 employees and offices in Knoxville, New York and Los Angeles, was struggling with a manual, spreadsheet-based system for booking dozens of conference rooms. The labor-intensive process—managed by a single receptionist at some sites—led to double-bookings, missed A/V requests and limited visibility into room availability, making meetings less productive and scheduling unpredictable.

Scripps implemented the ARCHIBUS Room Reservations application integrated with Web Central and Space Management, trained power users, and launched self-service intranet booking with amenity search, floor plans and automated email confirmations. The new system reduced booking conflicts, improved access to room and equipment information, and streamlined reservations across the enterprise, with plans to roll out additional ARCHIBUS modules.
