Rome Airports Re-engineer Real Estate and Facilities Management Business Processes with ARCHIBUS

Aeroporti di Roma Group (ADR), the exclusive facilities manager for Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, needed to re-engineer its financial, real estate and facilities-management processes to support major growth—projecting passenger volumes to rise from about 40 million today to roughly 100 million by 2040—and to manage an expanding footprint of over 1.25 million m² of building space across tens of thousands of hectares. ADR sought better planning, regulatory accounting, concession management and tenant service while consolidating data across many systems.

ADR deployed the web-based ARCHIBUS platform integrated with GIS, AutoCAD and SAP, using Space Management, Real Estate & Portfolio Management and Building Operations modules and consolidating 50,000 drawings. The solution improved process and data-sharing efficiency, delivered about 30% savings in data collection and updates and up to 80% savings in regulatory accounting calculations, and gave ADR stronger control of its growing airport estate with plans to extend ARCHIBUS to additional FM functions.
