A ARCHIBUS Case Study
Nanyang Technological University (NTU), a top-ranked institution with 33,000 students and a 200‑hectare garden campus including 16 residence halls, needed a leading-edge facilities solution to replace manual FM processes and better manage space, assets, maintenance, reporting, and lease chargebacks across its expansive portfolio. As the first Singapore university to adopt BIM for operations, NTU faced the challenge of consolidating CAD, spreadsheets and legacy records into a single, accurate view of its buildings and rooms.
NTU implemented ARCHIBUS integrated with BIM/Revit (using 3D scanning where CAD didn’t exist), importing and validating data and rolling out custom interfaces for desktop and mobile in an accelerated, four‑month deployment. The combined 2D/3D BIM–ARCHIBUS system automated facilities workflows, improved reporting and room inventories, optimized space and asset utilization, streamlined chargeback processes, increased user adoption, and is being extended to cover asset management and building operations.
