Enbridge Pipelines Achieving Enterprise Information Management Intelligence with ARCHIBUS

Enbridge Pipelines Inc., a major North American energy transporter with a workforce that grew ~33% (about 2,000 new positions), faced the challenge of quickly accommodating rapid staff and facility expansion — including 220,000 sq. ft. of new office space in 12 months, 2,200+ moves in a year, and complex vacancy, occupancy and forecasting needs across multiple business lines and centralized systems. The company needed an enterprise information management approach to streamline move management, space forecasting, floor-plan control and departmental occupancy reporting.

Enbridge implemented ARCHIBUS — an integrated, web‑based IWMS with modules for Space and Move Management, Preventive Maintenance and On Demand services — integrated with Active Directory, PeopleSoft and IT Remedy. The rollout produced more accurate monthly space and occupancy reporting, simplified onboarding and moves, faster equipment deployments, improved headcount scenario planning and easier access to up‑to‑date floor plans, while giving facilities greater visibility within IT and enabling further expansion into lease administration and emergency/parking tracking.
