Denver Public Schools: Enhancing Data Collection, Decision Support, with ARCHIBUS

Denver Public Schools faced the challenge of centralizing and automating space management across 144 sites (13.5 million sq ft) to support planners, contractors, and policymakers. The district needed accurate, accessible space data to inform enrollment and capacity calculations, bond and construction decisions, community facility scheduling, and to control costs such as water and custodial labor.

DPS implemented ARCHIBUS Space Management with the Overlay/Design Management integration for AutoCAD and Revit and linked data to ESRI ArcMap, creating a single source of detailed space and site information. The system enabled fast retrieval of floor plans and GIS visualization, improved decision support for closures, reconfigurations and new construction, reduced water bills by tracking irrigated areas, and better aligned custodial staffing and labor costs — with plans to expand to Web Central and additional ARCHIBUS modules.
