A ARCHIBUS Case Study
Chesapeake Energy, the second-largest independent natural gas producer in the U.S., was experiencing rapid growth—adding employees, field offices and properties—while relying on paper files, spreadsheets and ad-hoc drawings to track real estate, leases, space and fleet information. This made reporting, move coordination and maintenance inefficient and time-consuming for executives and facilities staff.
Chesapeake implemented ARCHIBUS Web Central with Real Property & Lease Management, Space Management, Building Operations, Move and Fleet applications (integrated with PeopleSoft and SharePoint), enabling mobile work-order exchange, centralized property and occupant data, and self-service reporting. The changes cut reporting time from days to minutes, streamlined moves and maintenance, improved lease and space utilization, and delivered over $4 million in savings (about $1.5M initially and $2.5M projected over five years).
