Banco de España: Managing 3,000,000 Square Feet – and 65,000 Asset Elements – Made Easy with ARCHIBUS

Banco de España, Spain’s central bank established in 1782 and headquartered in Madrid, manages 33 historic and modern buildings totaling about 300,000 m² (over 3,000,000 sq ft) and some 65,000 asset elements. With frequent employee moves and dispersed inventories of furniture, IT and other assets, the bank needed more accurate, transparent space and asset data to simplify moves and improve decision-making.

Working with ARCHIBUS partner ActivaFM, the bank deployed ARCHIBUS Space Management, Furniture & Equipment, Strategic Master Planning, Overlay with Design Management (AutoCAD/Revit) and the Web Central Workplace Portal, plus mobile barcode devices that sync via Visual Basic.Net and Oracle Lite to internal ERP systems. The result: 65,000 assets inventoried, labeled and mapped to floor plans, faster and more accurate mobile data collection, synchronized databases across finance, IT and art collections, simplified move management, and stronger oversight for better property and acquisition decisions.
