A Archer Well Case Study

Preview of the Major Operator in the North Sea Case Study

a major operator in the North Sea completes a 9 7/8" sidetrack in 11 hours with Archer Well

A major operator in the North Sea challenged Archer Well to perform a sidetrack in a heavy wall 9 7/8” casing, a specific S125 S grade with no prior industry experience. The operation was further complicated by the presence of two centralizers on each joint that likely needed to be milled, and no log was available to confirm their exact placement.

Archer Well utilized its 2° X-it® Whipstock system with specialized mills and an optimized placement strategy to mill the window in just 5.75 hours. The operation was executed flawlessly with no abnormal parameters, and all mills came out full gauge. The subsequent drilling and liner run were completed without issue, saving substantial rig time with a total operational time of only 11 hours.
