SFTP Connector Enables Automation and Logistics for STIHL

STIHL, the global power-tool manufacturer, needed to extend its ERP-driven automations to key supplier mG miniGears via secure EDI. To do so, STIHL required an SFTP Connector that could directly access STIHL’s server, provide secure, reliable connectivity, and align EDIFACT messages (DELFOR/DESADV) with real business processes. STIHL selected ArcESB’s SFTP Connector to meet these requirements.

ArcESB implemented the SFTP Connector to receive EDIFACT files from STIHL, parse them into Excel for mG miniGears, and convert Excel back into EDI for outbound messages, all over secure SFTP. The solution delivered instantaneous transfer speeds, a one-minute setup and automation through the ArcESB UI, and full compliance with STIHL’s EDI specs; as a result, STIHL successfully extended its internal automations to mG miniGears, achieving a steady, secure EDI connection and high-quality support from ArcESB.
