ChannelApe Embeds ArcESB, Enables Customer EDI and MFT

ChannelApe Inc, a SaaS direct-to-consumer ecommerce platform, needed to add reliable EDI and managed file transfer (MFT) capabilities so its customers could exchange X12, XML and other documents over protocols like AS2, SFTP and FTP without leaving ChannelApe. Building that functionality in-house would have required hundreds of development hours, certification and interoperability testing, so ChannelApe Inc selected ArcESB (using ArcESB Connectors and the ArcESB developer APIs) to provide an embeddable, certified EDI/MFT solution.

ArcESB was deployed as lightweight, Dockerized microservices that ChannelApe Inc calls via API, letting customers send, receive and translate documents inside the ChannelApe UI with minimal custom code. The integration proved reliable and scalable—ArcESB handled roughly 2 million files in 2018 (potentially more after translations), survived peak holiday loads without issues, reduced development and certification overhead, and drove wider customer adoption as ChannelApe Inc expanded licensing and planned additional ArcESB connectors.
