Stem, an energy technology and services company, needed a faster and more accurate way to calculate complex utility tariffs across many markets. Before working with Arcadia, Stem relied on manual spreadsheet analysis to update about 120 tariffs across roughly 60 utilities, a process that could take up to eight business days and required ongoing monitoring throughout the year. Stem used Arcadia’s Signal product to support its tariff and energy rate calculations.

Arcadia implemented Signal as a comprehensive, always-updated tariff database and API that let Stem automate rate calculations across utilities with a consistent interface. As a result, Stem cut manual update time from 40 working hours to as little as 4 hours, improved accuracy to 100%, reduced dev-ops data-upload work, and entered new markets and sites much more quickly. Arcadia also helped Stem with API integration and UI development around the data.
