Ridgefield Schools empowers 60+ teachers to teach STEM with Arcade

Ridgefield Schools, a district in Washington state, faced a challenge in engaging elementary and middle school students in STEM subjects. A teacher named Nam Nguyen wanted to implement a flipped classroom model where students could learn at their own pace but found traditional video lessons insufficient. The district needed an immersive solution from a vendor like Arcade to scale this teaching approach and keep over 30 students per class excited about complex topics like coding and robotics.

Arcade provided its interactive software, which the teacher used to break lessons into smaller, self-paced chunks for use in the classroom, on Zoom, and as homework companions. This solution allowed the teacher to identify where students were getting stuck and tailor instruction accordingly. As a result, Arcade's implementation led to widespread adoption, with over 60 teachers and hundreds of students now using it to learn new STEM concepts effectively and at their own pace.
