Case Study: Fortis Banque France achieves environment integrity and controlled configuration transfers with ARCAD Software CDM

A ARCAD Software Case Study

The ARCAD Software CDM Module ensures the integrity of Fortis Banque France's environments

Fortis Banque France, part of the international Fortis group, needed to migrate and reorganize internally developed banking applications to IBM i (OS/400) while retaining most existing functionality and keeping some AIX-based components. The bank faced complex parameter-transfer and configuration-management challenges across as many as 12 concurrent environments (development, tests, integration, approval, production and a “lock box”), where only functional—not technical—data must be migrated to avoid corrupting target systems. On consultants’ recommendation, Fortis selected ARCAD Software and its CDM (Critical Data Management) module, alongside ARCAD-Open Repository and ARCAD-Skipper.

ARCAD Software implemented the CDM solution integrated with its repository and Skipper tools, enabling identification of each parameter as a component and controlled transfers that move only relevant functional data. The result is the ability to copy entire environments (OS, libraries, programs) while preventing corruption by excluding technical fields, support for managing up to 12 concurrent environments, and adaptation of the CDM for OS/400 V5R3 based on Fortis feedback. ARCAD Software also provided on-site technical support and agents for multi-OS use, and other Fortis entities subsequently adopted ARCAD’s tools.
