System U, the fourth largest retail group in France with 63,000 staff and 1,600 points of sale, faced slow, risky and costly application deployments across IBM i and Linux/Java/Oracle environments. Managing over 600 applications and roughly 20,000 deployments per year, the IT organization needed to automate and standardize deployment tooling and chose DROPS from ARCAD Software to address these challenges.

ARCAD Software implemented DROPS as a unified deployment engine integrated with GitHub/SVN, Jenkins, Artifactory and ARCAD version control on IBM i; about 200 applications are configured, DROPS pushes to up to 900 target servers and 70 IBM i partitions and maintains 160 scheduled deployments. ARCAD Software’s DROPS has reduced deployment time by a factor of three and put System U on track for a 40% reduction in deployment workload with an expected ROI in under three years.
