Case Study: SLIB achieves streamlined multiversion management and multiplatform modernization with ARCAD Software’s ARCAD-Skipper

A ARCAD Software Case Study

Preview of the SLIB Case Study

SLIB Relies on ARCAD-Skipper to manage multible versions of its financial software

SLIB, a financial software vendor specializing in stock-market applications and ASP-hosted services, faced growing complexity from supporting many product versions, deploying in ASP mode, and modernizing green-screen IBM i applications to GUI and Java/Eclipse-based development. To manage selective deployments, varying lifecycles and the move to IBM’s Eclipse/WDSc environment, SLIB turned to ARCAD Software and its ARCAD-Skipper version and configuration management solution.

ARCAD Software customized ARCAD-Skipper and delivered an Eclipse plug‑in plus a Power i–based repository so SLIB could keep existing work in the ARCAD‑Open Repository while using the new IDE. The solution overhauled version control for ASP scenarios, enabled mixed RPG and Java deployments, and ensured IDE commonality; SLIB now internally manages some 100–200 combinations of software versions and is progressing a 1,500‑DSP/500‑transaction GUI migration (a 2,500–3,000 man‑day program with ~1,000 days completed).
