AMF uses the ARCAD software suite to ensure the coherence of development and team progression

Assurance Mutuelle des Fonctionnaires (AMF), a benchmark mutual for the French public sector with 310,000 contracts, faced the challenge of maintaining and evolving a large, internally developed IBM i application portfolio—thousands of programs and over 4 million lines of RPG—while ensuring reliable impact analysis and bulk code changes for critical events like the Y2K and Euro transitions. To address this, AMF selected ARCAD Software and its ARCAD suite (including ARCAD-Observer, ARCAD-Transformer, ARCAD-Skipper and the ARCAD Open-Repository) to provide ILE-aware analysis, mass transformation and centralized version control.

ARCAD Software implemented a single repository and toolset integrated with WDSc/Eclipse, enabling reliable impact analysis, automated mass code transformations and full traceability. Using ARCAD, AMF migrated all applications in one night for Y2K and the Euro changeover—automatically handling 1,000 programs and 800 files—while gaining a unified development environment, stronger team cohesion, faster rollout of web and workflow projects, and the ability to scale without significant new hires. ARCAD Software’s tools delivered measurable automation, reliability and auditability across AMF’s development lifecycle.
