PACE Aerospace Engineering & IT GmbH develops Pacelab Cabin, a software tool used by aircraft makers and major airlines (including Airbus programs and Etihad) to model, visualize and contractually document highly customized cabin interiors. Rising variety in seats, fittings and onboard systems — plus multiple catalog versions, regulatory configuration rules and lifecycle updates — created mounting complexity, higher production costs and a need for a centralized, versioned configuration management system that could keep catalogs, 2D/3D assets and compliance data in sync.

PACE implemented Aras Innovator as the PLM backbone for Pacelab Cabin, using AML-based integration to link clients, CAD and Microsoft infrastructure, and to provide centralized catalog and project data management with document/version control, user rights and Active Directory sync. The result was a fast-to-deploy, flexible data model that reduced download times, enabled immediate viewing and reuse of layouts, improved client acceptance, and allowed PACE to rapidly extend and reuse the solution across projects while meeting complex regulatory and configuration requirements.
