Ogihara America Corporation, a Michigan‑based tier‑1 supplier of vehicle body panels for major OEMs, faced rising regulatory and customer quality requirements (ISO/TS16949) while relying on disparate systems to manage CAPA, SCAR, nonconformance, defect tracking, APQP/PPAP and document control. Management needed a flexible, scalable and low‑cost way to unify quality processes, improve supplier and customer collaboration, and ensure rapid, auditable responses to issues as the business grew.

Ogihara deployed Aras Innovator as its PLM/quality platform, implementing a five‑phase 8D CAPA workflow with web issue submission, supplier SCAR capability and integration to its QAD ERP via an ESB for automated containment actions. The solution delivered closed‑loop CAPA compliance, faster customer responsiveness, improved product quality with searchable records, seamless supplier collaboration, and a foundation to roll out APQP/PPAP and other quality processes—while avoiding per‑user licensing costs.
