Yanmar Energy System, a leading Japanese manufacturer of air conditioning and power-generation equipment, faced a critical data-management challenge: long product lifecycles (10–30 years) required comprehensive customer, installation and maintenance records, but information was scattered across PDM, a legacy DMS, spreadsheets and proprietary tools. Per-user licensing, weak permissions and accidental deletions made cross-department access difficult, complicating compliance and slowing service and project delivery.

Yanmar migrated incrementally to Aras Innovator, creating a single secure file vault with role-based permissions, in-house customizable workflows and a subscription model that lowered TCO and included upgrades and training. The result was faster, more accurate access to customer and product records, improved service response and specification turnaround, and the ability to continuously refine processes as the business grows.
