Triton Teaching Students to Code with ArangoDB

Triton, an organization that teaches young students to code, needed an open source database that could be easily configured, run in Docker without local builds, support sharding, and deliver high performance with minimal DevOps overhead. Jared Allard at Triton evaluated ArangoDB and chose it for its Node.js library, Docker-ready images, Cursor API and AQL tooling to meet the demands of a high-throughput teaching stack.

ArangoDB delivered a solution that shardable, easy to deploy and scale across platforms, and simple to integrate into Triton’s microservices. Using ArangoDB’s Node.js client, Cursor API and AQL editor, Triton reduced backend resource usage, achieved strong performance in production, and simplified operations—making it easier to focus on teaching code rather than managing infrastructure.
