Case Study: City of Salem advances wetland wastewater monitoring with Aquatic Informatics' Hach WIMS

A Aquatic Informatics Case Study

Preview of the City of Franklin Case Study

The Town of Franklin Efficiently Manages Utility Assets Using One Platform

The City of Franklin's Willow Lake Water Pollution Control Facility embarked on a pilot project for a Natural Reclamation System (NRS) to treat wastewater using constructed wetlands. To manage the immense amount of data required to analyze the NRS's success and ensure regulatory compliance, they needed a powerful data management solution from a vendor like Aquatic Informatics.

Aquatic Informatics implemented its Hach Water Information Management Solution (WIMS) to capture, store, and analyze the multi-year pilot data with minimal modifications. The solution successfully compiled over five years of data on ammonia, phosphorous, and other key metrics, demonstrating reduced temperature and ammonia concentrations. While a full-scale wetland was not ultimately adopted, the project provided the City of Franklin with valuable insights into sustainable water treatment and the advanced technology needed to assess them.
